US Envoy Khalilzad Meets Ashraf Ghani
According to reports, the US’s state department special envoy on Afghan peace and reconciliation process Zalmay Khalilzad met with M. Ashraf Ghani on Saturday night.
According to reports, the US’s state department special envoy on Afghan peace and reconciliation process Zalmay Khalilzad met with M. Ashraf Ghani on Saturday night.
According to the presidential palace, the US special envoy on Afghan peace Zalmay Khalilzad discussed peace efforts with M. Ashraf Ghani at the presidential palace.
During the meeting, Mr Khalilzad briefed on his visit to the country and the region.
Mr Khalilzad emphasised that peace management process must be Afghan-led and Afghan-owned.
President Ghani thanked the US envoy’s efforts and said the Afghan government backs up efforts for peace in the country.
The second round of Khalilzad’s visit to the region for the Afghan peace process has begun last Thursday.
