Jamiat Party Leaders Meet with Ghani/ Cost of Peace Must be Clear: Jamiat Leaders

“During the meeting, the leadership of the Jamiat-e Islami party, said that the High Peace Council was formed through the traditional Loya Jirga and its abolition is not in the interest of the people and the country. Besides, it’s better to form a consultative board with the presidential administration that includes elite, experienced, and committed people to work for peace, and the price of the peace that people expect must be clear,” Ata M. Noor wrote on his Facebook page.
“Jamiat party is committed to helping for peace, but a peace managed and led by Afghans through a strong, committed and inclusive body with the presence of political parties, civil institutions and the government of Afghanistan,” Jamiat-e Islami party said in the meeting.

In addition, the meeting accentuated that major international powers, the neighboring countries, and region should be involved in the peace issues as well as the interests of all parties should be taken into account in order to ensure a sustainable peace in the country.

Country’s security status
On the other hand, the leaders of Jamiat party suggested president Ghani not to pay attention to the false reports of the security officials and closely inspect the security issue.
According to reports, on Friday, M. Ashraf Ghani met with other leaders of political parties as well.
