Kabul Clashes Ongoing; 1 Policeman Killed, Journalist among 6 Wounded

Afghan security Forces have not been able to arrest Tamim Shansab since Monday as clashes resulted in death of a policeman and at least 6 others were wounded including a journalist.


Afghan security Forces have not been able to arrest Tamim Shansab since Monday as clashes resulted in death of a policeman and at least 6 others were wounded including a journalist.
The clash broke out Monday in Shahr-e Now area of capital Kabul.

The clash broke out after police and attorney general office representatives attempted to evict a powerful family from a house in the area, said Interior Ministry spokesman Najibullah Danish.
According to him, 1 policeman was killed and six police personnel were wounded in the clash with relatives of former defense minister Abdul Rahim Wardak.

However, the security forces have sieged the house, waiting for the president’s decree to begin their operation.
The Interior Ministry announced that Tamim Shansab along with his 11 bodyguards, who are equipped with PK, RPG, and Kalashnikovs are under the police siege.
