Abdullah Meets some Taliban officials in Kabul
Head of High Council for National Reconciliation Abdullah Abdullah met some Taliban officials led by Khalil Rahman Haqqani in capital Kabul. He stressed that in the absence of social justice, providing security is impossible.
The meeting, accompanied by former president Hamid Karzai, Abdullah Abdullah reiterated his official position that he supports an independent and unified Afghanistan based on justice and fairness, Abdullah said in a statement on Thursday.
“History shows that in the absence of social justice, proving security and strengthening national unity is impossible,” Abdullah added.
According to the statement, Khalil Rahman Haqqani assured the participants that they will work hard to provide the right security for the Kabul residents and asked for the help and support of political leaders and elders of the country to provide the security.
It is worth mentioning that consultations on forming a comprehensive government are underway among politicians.
