The US Ambassador to Kabul John Bass said that the Afghan election is not an American process and the White-House has only a donor and supporting role.
16 years ago, Americans had a prominent role when the election held in Afghanistan by recruiting many advisors; but now only 20 are busy consulting on the election, Bass said in a statement.
John Bass expressed these remarks in response to a recent statement by the Taliban group that Afghan people should boycott the election.
Taliban announced that the upcoming election is an American one and the people must not participate.
However, the US ambassador in Kabul said the Taliban’s attack on the election is an attack on the Afghan people.
Meanwhile, Sayed Akbar Aqa, a former member of Taliban group said that this group will not trust the US special representative on peace affairs to Afghanistan Zalmay Khalilzad.
if Khalilzad enters the peace negotiations with his Afghan identity, the peace talks will not be fruitful, Akbar Aqa added.
This comes as the parliamentary election is scheduled for Oct. 20.
