Afghan Interior Minister Visits Ata M. Noor/Dandelions on Move
According to reports, Afghan interior minister Wais Ahmad Barmak has gone to visit the Balkh governor and chief executive of Jamiat-e Islami Ata M. Noor late Sunday.
Mr. Barmak is said to have gone to Mazar-e Sharif to mediate, urging Mr. Noor to negotiate and accept the decision of ARG palace.
President Ghani had earlier decided to remove Ata M. Noor as governor of Balkh province but strongly rejected by Mr. Noor.
It is likely the presidential palace is urging his opposite side to accept its decision.
This comes as a number of government officials had previously gone to Mazar-e Sharif but Ata M. Noor has not yet retreated from his stance against the government.
