Afghanistan’s IEC officials said during a press conference Wednesday that the parliamentary election campaigns will kick off across the country on Friday.

“the campaign will begin on 28 September and will continue till 17th October,” said Sayed Hafizullah Hashimi, a spokesman for the IEC. “the candidates must obey the election campaign rules and regulations,” he added.
The vote will see nearly 2,700 candidates running for 250 parliamentary seats.
“the candidates in Kabul do not have the right to spend more than 2 million and 650 Afghanis during their election campaigns,” Mr Hashimi stressed.
Hashimi urged the government to seriously back up this national process in order to succeed the process.
Meanwhile, there will be no campaign in Ghazni province due to security reasons and controversy over its division into multiple electoral constituencies.
President Ghani landed in Ghazni province early Thursday to review the security situation the province.
Afghanistan’s parliamentary and district election is due to be held on 20 October 2018.
