Why Ashraf Ghani Retreats Against Taliban?

Taliban group has always posed the withdrawal of foreign forces led by the US from Afghanistan. It seems that Taliban .

By the elapse of time, the war in Afghanistan prolonged and simultaneously more complicated. The head of NUG M. Ashraf Ghani offered an unprecedented proposal at the second Kabul process summit, asking the group to end the war. President Ghani had called on the Taliban to accept the Afghan constitution and operate as a political movement. But the Taliban group had said that the president’s offer means to surrender and will not deceive by Kabul proposal. Taliban not only rejected the Afghan government offer, but also launched Al-Khandaq spring operations. Currently, conflicts between the Taliban and the country’s defense and security forces ongoing in different parts of the country.

According to political experts in the country, the ceasefire call by the Afghan government is from the position of weakness. President Ghani and his major supporter (Washington) have found out that they cannot militarily win the war against the group.
The continuation of the Afghan war against the Taliban group will cost a lot, and now its burden on the shoulder of president Trump is heavy.
The paradoxical policies of the Afghan government and the USA in the fight against armed oppositions can be reviewed in the past one year. It can be argued that these colorful policies stem from the inability of the Kabul government and the White House. Amrullah Saleh, former national security chief wrote in response to the government ceasefire with the Taliban that the plan has been adopted on due to inability and will give the Taliban a stronger spirit in the war.

According to him, president Ghani’s ceasefire with the Taliban group is a short-term policy and that an implemental scheme must be put in place to end the Afghan war.
There is another supposition about the ceasefire of president Ghani with the Taliban that this is not the words of president Ghani, but the US has asked Ashraf Ghani to make such proposal to the Taliban.

President Ashraf Ghani announced an unconditional ceasefire with the Taliban, but not with other militant groups, such as Islamic State after a meeting of Islamic clerics declared a fatwa against suicide bombings in Kabul.
Mr Ghani in a video message ordered the security forces to stop offensive against “armed Taliban”.
On Saturday, Taliban announced a three-day ceasefire over the Eid holiday at the end of this week. However, the militants said foreign forces would be excluded from the ceasefire and that operations against them would continue.

Taliban group has always posed the withdrawal of foreign forces led by the US from Afghanistan. It seems that Taliban would not change their approach and continue their way as long as the American forces are in the country.
The government ceasefire with Taliban was supported from the address of US defense ministry and NATO and each want to end the war in Afghanistan.

In conclusion, it can be said that the ceasefire by the Afghan government and its endorsement by the Taliban is a three-day plan. To end the ongoing war which has taken victims from all groups, requires a comprehensive and applicable plan.
