“I was deeply saddened to learn that Ayatollah Mohammad Asif Mohseni, a top Shia cleric, and an Afghan religious and academic scholar passed away,” Mohammad Ashraf Ghani said, adding that “Ayatollah M. Asif Mohseni had good ethics, was a top scholar in Islamic sciences and made tireless efforts for the victory of the true Jihad of the Afghan people. His demise was a huge loss for the country and the Islamic world”.
According to him, Ayatollah Mohseni authored a lot of books in the field of Islamic sciences, which can be a torch for the future generations’ path and a lasting legacy for the Muslims of Afghanistan and Islamic world.
Ayatollah Sheikh M. Asif Mohseni was a prominent Afghan cleric and the chairman of Afghanistan’s Shia Ulema Council, who passed away on Monday night at the age of 84.
