CEO Abdullah Meets with New and Former NATO Commander in Kabul

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah met with US ambassador to Kabul John R. Bass, Gen. John Nicholson, the current commander of Resolute Support Mission and Gen. Austin S. Miller, the new commander of NATO in Kabul on Monday.


The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Abdullah Abdullah met with US ambassador to Kabul John R. Bass, Gen. John Nicholson, the current commander of Resolute Support Mission and Gen. Austin S. Miller, the new commander of NATO in Kabul on Monday.
The new commander of the NATO-led Resolute Support Mission who was appointed for Afghanistan, came to Kabul, the country’s Executive Directorate press office said in a statement.

According to the statement, during the meeting, they discussed the political situation, security, peace talks and parliamentary and presidential elections.
General Austin Miller is expected to officially assume the responsibility for commanding Resolute Support Troops in Afghanistan.

It is worth mentioning that General John Nicholson has led the mission in Afghanistan since March 2016. The presidential palace praised his role in the fight against the insurgency.
