The Iranian ambassador to Afghanistan Mohammad Reza Bahrami says Chabahar port has no confrontation with other economic projects in the region.
The Chief Executive Officer Abdullah Abdullah, Indian ambassador to Afghanistan Manpreet Vohra and his Iranian counterpart Mohammad Reza Bahrami attended the event held on Sunday.
Referring to the importance of Chabahar port for member states and other stakeholders, Mr Bahrami, who was addressing at the summit of presenting new probe of researchers from Afghanistan, Iran, and India said: “such projects can be the complement of other projects, not confrontation with them.”
“The activation of the Chabahar port binds the interests of the countries in the region, which can have a significant impact on the security in the region as well,” the Iranian ambassador emphasized.
He says that Iran has provided a special facility for investors and traders in the port.
Meanwhile, the chief executive officer of Afghanistan Abdullah Abdullah said: “Although Chabahar port is important in the economic growth of the country but stressed that Afghanistan cannot rely only on this port.”
Pointing out the transit problems of Afghanistan and Pakistan, he said that these problems should be eliminated in order to provide the interests of the two countries.
Mr Abdullah says that traders in Afghanistan and Pakistan have been hurt and Pakistan should help Afghanistan to address these problems in the interests of the two countries and mutual respect.
The Indian ambassador to Afghanistan, Manpreet Vohra commended the research on Chabahar for the future of investment in the port and assured partner countries in the project that it would provide facilities to investors in Chabahar.
These remarks came from Iran’s ambassador to Kabul while Pakistani’s port Gwadar has been closed down on Afghan caravans so far.
