Displaced People Should be Transferred to their main Areas: Herat Residents

Residents of Injil district in western Herat province ask for the transfer of internally displaced people from Dasht-e Hawz to their main areas.
Simultaneously, the governor of Herat province Mohammad Asif Rahimi talked about the presence of internally displaced people and the concerns of the citizens regarding the security and social status of the province during a meeting held in Negaristan hall.
“Thousands of displaced families that came to Herat province in the past one month was covered by humanitarian assistance,” local officials said.
According to the officials, 3 600 displaced families have been recorded in the province in the past month and 2 600 families have received humanitarian assistance.
Herat governor emphasized on a mechanism to resolve the concerns of Herat residents.

“The permanent residency of these people will cause insecurity and social problems to the indigenous people of Injil and other districts,” they said.
According to the decision of the meeting, the authorities took the responsibility to take action to return these people to their main areas and to continue the transfer of internally displaced people in coordination with the governors of neighboring provinces.
According to sources, in recent weeks, more than 5,000 families from the provinces of Ghor, Badghis, and Farah have gone to Herat which it sparked concerns for the residents of this province.
Some concerns have raised that these people have entered Herat province to make it insecure.
