Farah, Slaughterhouse of Afghan Security Forces

Farah’s provincial council members reported the security status in the province is very bad, saying 80% of Farah soil is under Taliban control.
“Farah province is seized by a large number of Taliban fighters and the Afghan security forces suffer heavy casualties every night as the group carries out offensive on their security checkpoints,” said Dadullah Qane, deputy to the provincial council.

According to Mr. Qane, 80 percent of Farah soil is under the control of Taliban but the local and central government are ignoring the bad security status in the province, accusing the governor and police commander of the province of not being able to handle the situation.

On the other hand, a large number of residents of the province have forced to abandon their homes.
“Many residents of the province have forced to leave their homes from the districts and city center due to bad security status,” said Jamila Amini, a member of the provincial council.
We have tried to have the view of local security officials about the security status in the province but they did not answer our calls.

However, the chairman of the provincial council Farid Bakhtor rejected the inefficiency of the local officials but accused the central government of ignoring the security status of the province.
This comes as the Afghan security forces suffer heavy casualties in day and night clashes with the Taliban group.
