Afghan government – Taliban negotiating delegations say the first joint working committee of the negotiating teams was held in Doha.
“The joint working committee of the negotiating team of the I.R. of Afghanistan and the other side met today Dec 5, 2020,” the Afghan government’s negotiation team said in a statement. “The committee discussed the issue related to agenda of the negotiation,” the statement added.
Naeem Wardak, a spokesman for the Taliban’s political office in Qatar, also said that the issues related to the agenda and its formation were discussed in the meeting.
“It was agreed that such meetings will be taking place,” he added.
