Herat is Country’s Future Development Pole: president


Afghan white gold textile factory was inaugurated in Herat’s industry town by president Ghani yesterday.
This is the largest and the most important factory producing cotton that most of its production will be exported to regional and the countries in the world.
According to DID news agency report, “The factory was built with more than $ 6 million by the private sector that has provided work for 300 young people,” Herat Governor Mohammad Asif Rahimi said.
Herat governor reported that investment on inaugurating 30 new factories and development of 60 production line have boosted in the past two years.
He then called on the president and central authorities to invest in infrastructures and approving the establishment of security forces organs in Herat.
Mr. Rahimi stressed that there is an appropriate ground for investment and industrial development in Herat.
On the other hand, president Ghani considered the role of investors in Herat stunning in country’s economic history and underlined that Herat will never be destroyed, but it has always shined and again it will become the country’s industrial development pole.
“Herat province is the country’s future development pole, Salma [dam] turned to a reality, and other Herat’s dams will be built, God willing,” the president said.
“A few weeks later, we will witness the inauguration of Herat-Khawaf railway and agreed with Turkmenistan to extend Herat-Turghandi railway,” Mr. Ghani added.
He underlined that Afghanistan must become an exporting country.
This is the second visit of the president to Herat province in the past month.
