A number of House of Representatives’ members accuse the NUG of Afghanistan of pushing to engineer the upcoming election, saying that a transparent and fair parliamentary election requires a temporary government.
Representatives in Wolesi Jirga say an interim administration should be created in order to prevent the government interfering in the election and to hold a transparent and fair election.

“The National Unity Government (NUG) plans to bring its elected members into parliament by holding an engineered election,” Mawlawi Shahzada Shahid, the representative of eastern Kunar province in the parliament said in an interview with a newspaper. “Therefore, the people of Afghanistan will not accept the outcome of the parliamentary and provincial council elections, and the presidency cannot impose the result of the election on the people.” He added.

According to him, a temporary government should be created to win the people’s confidence and in order to hold a transparent and fair election.

Meanwhile, a number of delegates criticized the performance of the Election Commission in preparing voter lists and setting polling stations.
“The government of Afghanistan does not have control on many provinces of the country with a distance of five kilometers, so how it can provide the ground for the people of the country to vote in the elections,” said Usman Farahi, another MP.

Yet, the “National Consensus and Change” political movement proposed the “National Accord Government” as an alternative to the NUG last winter 1396 (solar year) to move for fair and transparent elections.

Many political circles and prominent political figures declared to back up the plan of “National Accord Government” after it was offered by the National Consensus and Change political movement.
