Nasrat Rahimi, a spokesman to Interior Ministry confirmed the incident, saying that an explosion took place at 08:55 am (local time) in PD-2 of Kabul city.
The blast occurred in Pul-e Mahmoodkhan as Kabul residents are heading to work or school in the city’s congested streets.
The target area includes ministries and police checkpoints, but civilians are all around the area in cars and on foot to start their day.
According to reports, 15 wounded people have been transferred to Emergency hospital so far.
No group has immediately claimed responsibility.
