A number of residents in Northern Baghlan province closed the Kabul-Mazar highway in response to the siege of commando forces in Faryab province and the government’s negligence for their salvation.

The residents of Baghlan province warn that as long as the government does not endeavor to save the besieged soldiers in Faryab, the highway will be closed to transport vehicles.
“Mazar-Kabul highway is closed due to the siege of more than 40 commando soldiers in Faryab,” said Zarif Zarif, the provincial council representative.
Mr. Zarif warns that the highway will remain closed until the commandos led by Basir Andarabi rescued.

More than 40 commando soldiers have been in Taliban siege in the Pashtunkut district of Faryab Province for ten days, but the central government has so far failed to rescue them.
