Mujahidin will have Independent Candidate in Presidential Election: Abdullah

The CEO of the NUG Abdullah said Mujahidin will probably have an independent candidate in the upcoming presidential election.

The CEO of the NUG Abdullah said Mujahidin will probably have an independent candidate in the upcoming presidential election.
Dr Abdullah expressed the issue at the ceremony commemorating the 8 April anniversary of Mujahidin victory held apart from the presidential palace (ARG) ceremony in capital Kabul on Saturday.

The same program was held at the presidential palace to commemorate Hasht-e Sawr (8 April), but few Jihadi figures had attended the meeting and the chief executive officer (CEO) of the NUG Abdullah was not present at the ceremony.
“The solution to all political problems in the country is the election and the solution to security problems is the unity and mobilization of Jihadi and resistance forces,” Mr Abdullah said.

Although, it is said that Mr Abdullah will attend the upcoming presidential election as the first vice president of Mr Ghani, his absence at ARG meeting and the announcement of an independent candidate from the Jihadi and resistance front, has diminished this probability, and strengthened this possibility that political differences have been deepened between President Ghani and Dr. Abdullah.

Few Jihadi figures and the second deputy to executive directorate Haji Mohammad Mohaqiq was not present at the meeting held in ARG.

Mr Ghani also less talked about Jihadi elders during the meeting and focused more on peace with armed oppositions and the election issue. However, Mr Abdullah talked more about the past, stressing on continuing the way of Jihadi elders.

Abdullah and Ghani’s partnership in the NUG has seen many ups and downs. According to experts, ARG has used Sapidar in implementing its plans.
