A large number of protestors on Saturday called for an independent country under the name of ‘Turkestan’ in northern Sar-e Pul province, carrying flags that written Turkestan in Latin.
The demonstrators opposed the politics of the head of NUG Ashraf Ghani, demanding an independent country by the name of “Turkestan”.
Earlier, the fans of Latif Pedram, MP, called for renaming Afghanistan to “Khorasan”, saying if the government does not pay attention to our demands, we will declare north an independent country.
The protest against Ashraf Ghani’s politics in northern Afghanistan entered its 5th day. Balkh, Samangan, and Sar-e Pul provinces saw a massive demonstration Saturday, threatening the government to put their demands into consideration.
The people launched massive protests in these provinces after the central government arrested Nezamuddin Qaisari, a public uprising commander and a close person to General Dostum.
