Rabbani Discussed Peace with his Turkish Counterpart

Top Afghan and Turkish diplomats had a meeting Wednesday about the Afghan peace process in Turkey’s capital Ankara, Foreign Ministry confirmed.
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu met Afghan counterpart Salahuddin Rabbani at his official residence in Ankara.
“Discussed the overall situation in Afghanistan, including ongoing peace efforts for ending the current conflict and fulfilling the ultimate demand of our people to secure a just and lasting peace,” acting Afghan foreign minister twitted after the meeting.
Turkish FM Cavusoglu also said that he discussed the Afghanistan peace process and developments in the region with Salahaddin Rabbani.
The meeting comes as Turkey pushes to have a greater role in the Afghan peace process.
