According to reports, the provincial commander of frontier response unit Janan Afghan along with his three bodyguards were killed in the incident.
According to eyewitnesses, the explosion took place in Kandahar’s “Dehkhaja” area.

Taliban group spokesperson Zabihullah Mujahid claimed the attack by releasing a statement.
