Talks are underway between Pakistan and the Taliban at the foreign office in Islamabad, Radio Pakistan reported.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi is leading the Pakistani delegation while the Taliban side is headed by Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar.
The two sides are expected to discuss the possibilities of resuming the stalled Afghan peace process.
Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and senior officials welcomed the twelve-member Taliban delegation as it arrived at the foreign office.
The meeting comes as US Special Envoy on Afghan peace process Zalmay Khalilzad as well as RSM commander in Afghanistan Gen. Scott Miller have recently traveled to Pakistan.
