A spokesman for the governor of eastern Nangarhar province said the massive suicide attack on the education department and the faculty of health in Jalalabad city has been curbed.
“Four suicide gunmen stormed the education department and Faculty of health in PD-2 of Jalalabad city around 10:00 am on Monday,” said Ataullah Khugyani, the spokesman for the governor of Nangarhar province.
According to Khugyani, first, a suicide attacker detonated his explosives at the entrance of the education building, then, three suicide attackers clashed with the security forces.
The security forces could gun down the three attackers in 10 minutes, he added.
Khugyani further said that a vehicle full explosives was also detected and neutralized by the security forces.
“Ten people were injured in this event,” the spokesman said.
No group has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
