US Congress Delegation in Kabul: Election will be Held Timely

President Ghani met with the United States congress members in ARG palace.
“Holding elections is our top priority. This country can only be governed democratically; the people back up it as well. The NUG is committed to holding Wolesi Jirga, District Councils and presidential elections,” Mr Ghani said in a statement.
The chief executive officer of the NUG Dr. Abdullah Abdullah praised the United States cooperation with Afghanistan in different fields and read it useful to suppress common enemy.
At the meeting, Nancy Pelosi said her country is committed to continue fighting terrorism and stands beside Afghanistan as a strategic partner.
The US delegation emphasized on peace process, active presence of women in different fields, holding election on time and counter corruption and drugs.
The US Democratic Party is currently the minority of the Congress, and the government is in the hands of the Republican Party.
