Muttaqi: Afghanistan’s Economy Victim of US Policies
DIDPress: Acting foreign minister of Afghanistan condemned Western sanctions against the country as “illegal,” blaming the nation’s deepening economic crisis due to the US freeze on Afghan central bank assets.

In his address at the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meeting, Amir Khan Muttaqi criticized Western sanctions and called for their removal.
He emphasized that the freezing of Afghanistan’s central bank reserves by the US has severely destabilized the country’s economy, exacerbating hardship for ordinary Afghans.
Muttaqi urged Islamic nations to push for the lifting of sanctions, saying that Afghanistan is ready to expand economic, transit, and trade cooperation with OIC member states.
