Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Expected in Eastern and Southeastern Afghanistan

DID Press: Afghanistan’s Meteorological Department has issued a weather alert warning of heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and the risk of flash floods in six provinces starting Monday, September 14.

According to the advisory, the severe weather is expected to affect the provinces of Nuristan, Kunar, Nangarhar, Logar, Khost, and Paktia.

Authorities cautioned that the heavy downpours could trigger rising water levels in rivers, road blockages, landslides, and damage to residential areas in vulnerable districts.
