Pakistan Warns India: “You Will Be Buried Under Your Own Fighter Jets”

DID Press: Pakistan’s Defense Minister, Khawaja Muhammad Asif, has issued a strong warning to India, saying that any military adventurism from New Delhi would have “catastrophic consequences” and that India “will be buried under the wreckage of its own fighter jets.”

Asif made the remarks in response to what he called “provocative statements” from Indian security officials. In a post on X (formerly Twitter), he wrote that Indian political and military leaders are trying to “restore their lost credibility,” but warned that renewed conflict would ultimately work in Pakistan’s favor.

Earlier, Pakistan’s military also released a statement cautioning that “war-mongering rhetoric can lead to aggression with disastrous results,” adding: “Those who speak of eliminating Pakistan must understand that such an outcome would be mutual.”

These warnings come amid rising tensions following border skirmishes between the two nuclear-armed neighbors in May this year. Relations between Islamabad and New Delhi remain severely strained, with analysts noting that Pakistan’s renewed tough stance is meant both to reinforce deterrence and to send a message to the international community about its defense readiness and security sensitivities.

Experts suggest possible next steps could include increased military deployments along the border, intensified joint exercises, and regional diplomatic efforts to rally support from neighboring countries. The escalating rhetoric also highlights the persistent volatility of South Asia—where even limited military confrontations could have devastating consequences, given both nations’ nuclear capabilities.
