Massive Power Outage Plunges San Francisco into Darkness

DID Press: A widespread power outage has left large parts of San Francisco, California, in darkness, affecting approximately 130,000 homes and businesses—nearly one-third of all Pacific Gas and Electric (PG&E) customers in the city.

The blackout is one of the largest in San Francisco in recent years, disrupting daily life and economic activity across the city. Its timing during the holiday season meant Christmas lights remained off, and many restaurants and shops faced closures or operational interruptions.

Authorities and PG&E officials have said investigations are ongoing to determine the exact cause of the outage, with measures being planned to prevent similar incidents in the future.
