Afghanistan Justice Ministry Shuts Down 263 Property Agencies in Kabul

DID Press: Afghanistan’s Ministry of Justice says it has shut down hundreds of real estate brokerage offices in Kabul as part of an expanded regulatory crackdown on economic activity, while also issuing new licenses to compliant operators.

The ministry said 263 property transaction offices were closed in the 1404 fiscal year due to violations, including operating without official licenses, breaching regulations, and failing to meet established standards.

Officials said the measures are part of efforts to improve order, transparency, and prevent malpractice in the property market.

At the same time, the ministry reported that more than 1,200 new licenses were issued to qualified applicants during the same period to support lawful business operations.

Authorities emphasized that oversight of real estate brokerage offices in Kabul will continue and that further violations will be met with strict enforcement.
