Taliban Approves Revised Migrant Housing Plan in Tarinkot, Standardizes Plot Sizes

DID Press: Ministry of Urban Development and Housing under the Taliban administration says Minister Najibullah Hayat Haqqani has approved a revised master plan for a migrant settlement project in Tarinkot, the capital of Uruzgan Province.

According to the ministry, the decision is part of a nationwide review of migrant housing schemes aimed at improving land distribution, supporting returnees, and expanding access to basic urban services.

Under the revised plan, residential plots that were previously allocated in varying sizes will now be standardized at five “biswa” each for all returning migrants.

Officials said the updated plan covers more than 1,826 jeribs of land and includes 2,619 residential plots, along with planned public services and infrastructure facilities designed to support structured urban settlement.

The ministry added that implementation of the revised Tarinkot housing scheme has now been handed over to relevant authorities as part of ongoing efforts to review migrant settlement projects across multiple provinces.
