IAEA Chief: Iran Nuclear Program Cannot Be Halted by Military Action

DID Press: Head of the International Atomic Energy Agency has stressed that Iran’s nuclear program cannot be stopped through military action and must instead be managed through diplomacy and monitoring.

Rafael Grossi told The Economist that there is no viable military solution to Iran’s nuclear activities, emphasizing that sustained engagement and inspections remain the most effective approach.

He said continuous monitoring and cooperation between Iran and the IAEA are essential for managing the issue and ensuring transparency.

Grossi also urged Iran to facilitate timely access for inspectors to uranium-related facilities to strengthen oversight mechanisms.

At the same time, he stated that current assessments show no evidence of a structured program aimed at developing nuclear weapons in Iran.

He further rejected claims that Iran is close to producing a nuclear bomb, saying the country has never been only weeks or months away from such capability.
