UN Chief Warns “Law of the Jungle” Is Replacing Rule of Law Globally

DID Press: UN Secretary-General António Guterres has warned that if the “rule of force” replaces the “rule of law,” global instability will spread rapidly.

In a new message, Guterres said that under such conditions, conflicts would spill beyond borders and economic shocks would reverberate across the world.

He stressed that “more than ever, we must reject a future based on coercion and force, and instead remain committed to a future grounded in the UN Charter and international law.”

The remarks come amid growing concerns over escalating global tensions and multiple international crises in different regions of the world.
