Taliban Backs Tourism Development Within Islamic Framework
DID Press: Mohammad Khalid Hanafi announced readiness by the Taliban to support the tourism industry, describing it as a key sector for economic growth in Afghanistan.

Hanafi stated that Afghanistan’s extensive natural, historical, and cultural assets position the country to become a regional tourism destination, adding that proper management of the sector could help improve economic conditions and generate employment opportunities.
He emphasized that the current administration does not oppose the development of tourism and is prepared to support efforts to expand the sector, provided that activities are conducted in accordance with Islamic principles and values.
The minister also noted that the Taliban is willing to cooperate with domestic and international institutions to strengthen tourism infrastructure and create favorable conditions for attracting foreign visitors.
He stressed that adherence to religious guidelines remains a fundamental priority for the authorities across all sectors, including tourism.
