DID Press: Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the incursion by Israeli settlers into the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the raising of the Israeli flag, describing the act as a clear violation of international law.
The statement said the move represents a provocation of Muslim sentiments worldwide and constitutes a breach of the historical and religious status quo of the holy site in occupied East Jerusalem.
Doha reaffirmed its firm rejection of any attempts to alter the status of Al-Aqsa Mosque and called on the international community to assume its moral and legal responsibilities to protect Jerusalem’s holy sites and prevent the recurrence of such incidents.
Qatar also reiterated its longstanding support for the Palestinian cause, emphasizing the right of Palestinians to freely practice their religious rituals and to establish an independent state along the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.
