Haqqani Meets Iran’s Ambassador in Kabul: Security, Border Cooperation Emphasized

DID Press: Taliban’s Ministry of Interior Affairs announced that Sirajuddin Haqqani, acting Interior Minister, has met with Iran’s ambassador to Kabul, Alireza Bikdeli.

During the meeting, both sides discussed security cooperation, border management, counter-narcotics efforts, and the strengthening of bilateral relations.

According to Iranian sources, the talks also focused on enhancing stability along the shared border and continuing constructive dialogue to address mutual concerns through coordination and cooperation.

The Iranian ambassador emphasized the importance of border stability, sustained dialogue, and joint efforts to counter security threats, describing expanded cooperation between Afghanistan and Iran as essential for regional stability and development.

The meeting comes as both countries in recent years have sought to expand cooperation in security, economic, and border-related areas while managing challenges through continued diplomatic engagement.
