Taliban–Pakistan Clashes Kill Civilians in Renewed Border Violence

DID Press: Fresh cross-border clashes between Taliban forces and the Pakistan Army have resulted in civilian casualties along the frontier between Afghanistan and Pakistan, local sources report.

According to sources, Taliban forces launched mortar attacks from Afghan territory overnight targeting areas in Chaman and Bajaur. One strike hit a residential house in Mohammad Hassan village in Chaman, killing one person and injuring another—reportedly two brothers. Several nearby shops were also damaged.

The escalation follows a brief period of relative calm, with exchanges of fire intensifying again since Sunday.

On Monday, local sources in Kunar Province reported that Pakistani forces shelled parts of Asadabad, including the Sayed Jamaluddin Afghani University. Hospital sources confirmed at least seven killed and 75 injured, including women and children.

Pakistan has repeatedly accused Afghan Taliban authorities of supporting the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), an allegation the Taliban deny.
