Taliban Reject Pakistan Claims on Afghan Journalists

DID Press: Ministry of Information and Culture of Taliban has dismissed recent remarks by Pakistan’s information minister as “baseless and irresponsible,” rejecting allegations about Afghan journalists’ activities.

In a statement, the ministry said Afghan journalists operate within national interests and professional standards, denying claims that they are influenced or directed by external actors.

The response follows accusations by Pakistan’s information minister that some Afghan journalists in Pakistan are operating under the influence of Taliban-linked security bodies and using Pakistani territory for propaganda against Islamabad.

Taliban officials said such allegations are aimed at “diverting public attention,” adding that Afghan media operate in accordance with domestic laws and that the claims lack credible evidence.
