Taliban Delegation to Attend Russia–Islamic World Forum in Kazan

DID Press: A Taliban delegation is set to participate in the Russia–Islamic World annual forum in Kazan, with economic cooperation and regional trade expected to top the agenda.

According to Russia’s RIA Novosti, citing Rustam Khabibullin, around 15 members of the Taliban administration will attend the forum hosted in Kazan.

Khabibullin said the first session of the Afghanistan–Russia Joint Economic Commission will also be held on the sidelines of the event. The meeting will be co-chaired by Nooruddin Azizi representing Afghanistan and Khabibullin for Russia.

Discussions are expected to focus on bilateral trade, transit and logistics, energy cooperation, and potential recruitment of Afghan labor for the Russian market.

The Russia–Islamic World Forum, held annually in Kazan, the capital of Tatarstan, is considered one of the key platforms for dialogue between Moscow and Islamic countries on economic and commercial cooperation.
