DID Press: Pakistan’s defense minister has accused India of waging a proxy war through Taliban-linked actors, alleging efforts to destabilize the country’s internal security.

Khawaja Asif said in an interview with a private TV channel that India is using Taliban elements to advance a proxy conflict against Pakistan.
He claimed that both the Taliban administration and Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan are effectively acting as instruments serving New Delhi’s strategic interests.
Asif further alleged that India is exploiting Afghan territory to undermine Pakistan’s internal security and fuel instability in border regions, describing the moves as part of a broader pressure strategy against Islamabad.
The defense minister also claimed that certain militant groups operating in the region receive direct or indirect support from India—an accusation repeatedly raised by Pakistani officials but consistently rejected by New Delhi.
There has been no immediate official response from Indian authorities or Taliban officials regarding these latest remarks.
