UN-Habitat Urges Urban Investment to Strengthen Kabul’s Resilience
DID Press: UN-Habitat emphasized the importance of urban investment to strengthen resilience in Kabul, during a joint meeting held with diplomats and international organizations.

The agency said discussions focused on how targeted investment in cities can help protect lives, enhance resilience, and create economic opportunities for local communities.
Participants also highlighted the need for long-term, sustainable urban planning in Afghanistan, amid rapid population growth, infrastructure gaps, and increasing vulnerability to natural disasters.
Experts at the meeting noted that well-planned urban investment could play a key role in reducing these challenges and improving living conditions for residents.
UN-Habitat added that the dialogue forms part of broader efforts to promote “resilient cities and communities” in Afghanistan and is linked to preparations for the upcoming World Urban Forum in Azerbaijan.
