Afghanistan, Iran Discuss Infrastructure Projects and Trade Expansion

DID Press: Mullah Mohammad Isa Sani, acting Minister of Public Works of the Taliban administration, held talks with Alireza Bikdeli on expanding economic, trade, and infrastructure cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Iranian ambassador reported progress on the second section of the Abun Nasr Farahi road project, noting that 42 kilometers out of the 53-kilometer segment have been completed, with the remaining 11 kilometers expected to be finished within two months.

He also confirmed that funding has been allocated for the rehabilitation of the first section of the road, which spans 64 kilometers, with reconstruction work set to begin soon.

The 117-kilometer Abun Nasr Farahi road is considered a key transit route linking Afghanistan and Iran, playing an important role in regional connectivity and trade flows.

Both sides emphasized the need to strengthen economic cooperation and accelerate the implementation of critical infrastructure projects.
