Taliban Arrest 21 Suspects in Drug Crackdown in Herat Province
DID Press: Authorities in Herat province say 21 individuals have been arrested in coordinated anti-narcotics operations conducted by Taliban security forces across multiple districts.

The Taliban Ministry of Interior stated that the detainees are suspected of involvement in drug trafficking and distribution networks operating in western Afghanistan.
According to official figures, security forces confiscated approximately 16 kilograms of hashish, more than 1,000 narcotic tablets, and smaller quantities of opium, alcohol, and other illegal substances during the raids.
The ministry described the operations as part of an ongoing nationwide campaign aimed at curbing drug smuggling and dismantling trafficking networks.
Officials added that the suspects will be referred to judicial authorities after initial investigations are completed, though further details regarding identities, locations, and timing of the raids were not disclosed.
Taliban authorities have repeatedly announced similar operations in recent months, particularly in western and southern provinces, as part of intensified anti-narcotics enforcement efforts.
