Nearly 3,000 Children Missing in Gaza Since Start of War

DID Press: A Palestinian organization has reported that nearly 3,000 children have been registered as missing or forcibly disappeared in the Gaza Strip since the start of the ongoing war.

The Palestinian Center for Missing and Forcibly Disappeared Persons (PCMED) said in a statement marking International Missing Children’s Day that around 2,900 children are currently listed as missing.

According to the statement, approximately 2,700 of those children are believed to be trapped under the rubble of destroyed buildings, with recovery efforts severely hindered by shortages of rescue equipment, fuel restrictions, and ongoing attacks.

The organization called on international bodies to take urgent action to address the situation of missing children in Gaza and to support rescue and recovery operations.
