DID Press: Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed it closed the Strait of Hormuz until further notice and launched missile and drone attacks against US military facilities in several Gulf countries. The claims have not been independently verified, and no official confirmation has been issued by the United States or the governments concerned.

In a series of statements, the IRGC said the Strait of Hormuz had been closed “until further notice” in response to what it described as “illegal foreign intervention” in the region, adding that no vessels would be permitted to transit the strategic waterway.
The IRGC warned that any further action by the United States or its allies would trigger a stronger military response and additional strikes on US military facilities across the region. It also said responsibility for any consequences would rest with the United States, Israel, and countries hosting American military bases.
In another statement, the IRGC claimed it had targeted logistical support facilities and refueling platforms serving US naval vessels at the Port of Duqm in Oman during what it described as a “major surprise operation.”
The force further claimed that a second US vessel in the Strait of Hormuz had been targeted and stopped. It also said ballistic missiles struck Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar, alleging that the base’s command-and-control center and aircraft maintenance facilities were destroyed.
Separately, the IRGC claimed Iranian naval forces prevented US military vessels from opening an alternative maritime route south of the Strait of Hormuz. It also asserted that Iran launched ballistic missile strikes against the US “Prince Hassan” base in Jordan, claiming to have destroyed command facilities and hangars used for MQ-9 drones.
The Iranian Army also announced the start of a wave of drone attacks against US positions in the region, claiming to have targeted Patriot air defense systems, ammunition depots, radar sites in Kuwait, and communications and radar installations in Bahrain.
Meanwhile, Arab media outlets reported explosions in Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and the United Arab Emirates, as well as the activation of air defense systems in Jordan. Those reports have not been independently verified.
An Iranian military spokesman said US efforts to establish what he described as an “illegal route” through the Strait of Hormuz had undermined regional security, adding that Iran’s armed forces would continue defending the country’s interests in the strategic waterway. He also said Iran’s military target list was being continuously updated.
Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf wrote on X that the era of “one-sided agreements” was over and that other parties must honor their commitments or “pay the price.” He also published part of what he described as the fifth clause of a 14-point memorandum, referring to the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz under “Iranian arrangements.”
