Taliban Intensifies Anti-Smuggling Operations Along Pakistan Border
DID Press: Taliban authorities say they have intensified monitoring and enforcement measures to curb cross-border smuggling along Afghanistan’s border with Pakistan.

The Taliban-run Ministry of Finance said on Tuesday that mobile customs teams operating in the provinces of Kandahar, Nangarhar, Helmand, and Nimroz have intercepted and confiscated multiple shipments of smuggled goods over the past two weeks.
The seized items reportedly include medicines, rice, new and second-hand clothing, textiles, cosmetics and hygiene products, detergents, construction paint, spare parts, thread, veterinary drugs, blankets, cooking oil, tobacco, and other consumer goods.
The ministry said the operations are aimed at preventing smuggling, supporting legal trade, and increasing transparency in customs activities.
It added that inspections and enforcement efforts will continue across border routes and major trade crossings in the country.
