Helmand Deputy Governor: Afghanistan Ready to Expand Economic Cooperation With Iran
DID Press: Officials from Helmand province and Iran’s South Khorasan province have held talks emphasizing expanded economic cooperation, increased joint investment, and broader trade exchange between Afghanistan and Iran.

Rahimullah Mahmood said that closer coordination between Afghan and Iranian traders and investors could pave the way for joint investment projects and stronger long-term economic ties.
He also highlighted Afghanistan’s need for technical expertise from Iran, particularly in agriculture and mining, adding that Iran’s experience in industrial development and processing facilities could significantly increase the added value of Afghanistan’s mineral products.
Both sides expressed optimism that improved infrastructure and customs coordination would help increase daily trade volumes and further deepen economic relations between the two countries.
