EU Urges Dialogue With Israel While Rejecting Settlement Policy
DID Press: Kaja Kallas has reiterated that the European Union considers the two-state solution the only viable path toward peace in the Middle East, while reaffirming its position against Israeli settlement expansion.

In a message addressed to Gideon Sa’ar, Kallas emphasized the importance of continued dialogue between the EU and Israel, describing engagement as essential even amid disagreements.
“Dialogue is the foundation of diplomacy, especially when differences arise,” she said, noting the importance of maintaining constructive and respectful communication between the two sides.
Kallas stressed that the EU continues to view the two-state framework as the only practical and sustainable solution for achieving lasting peace in the region.
She also reaffirmed the EU’s official position that Israeli settlement activity in the West Bank is illegal under international law, stating that such expansion undermines the prospects of achieving a viable two-state solution.
The remarks come amid ongoing diplomatic discussions between European and Israeli officials regarding regional stability and the future of the peace process.
