DID Press: Turkish media outlets report the arrest of a senior Islamic State Khorasan (IS-K) member and the alleged disclosure of information regarding the group’s activities in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.

According to these reports, Turkey’s National Intelligence Organization detained Ahmed Kazanci, also known as “Abu Ubaida,” a senior figure within the IS-K network. He is said to have been responsible for managing and expanding the group’s Turkish-language propaganda operations and played a key role in its media structure.
Sources claim that during interrogation, the suspect provided details about IS-K’s organizational structure, operational methods, and the locations of some of its fighters.
He also alleged that several IS-K-linked facilities operate in the mountainous regions of Balochistan, which are reportedly used for training, logistical support, and coordination of activities.
Turkish media further stated that these claims are being examined within ongoing security investigations into IS-K-linked networks in the region. However, there has been no official confirmation from independent sources or Pakistani authorities regarding the existence of such facilities.
Islamic State Khorasan, a regional affiliate of ISIS, has claimed responsibility for multiple attacks in Afghanistan and Pakistan in recent years and remains a major security concern across the region.
