Tensions Escalate Between Taliban Leadership and Northern Commander
DID Press: Reports indicate escalating tensions between the Taliban leadership and Mullah Jumaa Khan Fateh, a influential commander in Badakhshan, with internal disagreements now reaching a critical stage.

According to the reports, multiple rounds of talks between the commander and senior Taliban officials have ended without agreement, after which a directive was issued by Taliban leader Hibatullah Akhundzada.
Sources claim that following his return from Zabul, Fateh allegedly defied certain leadership instructions and adopted a more confrontational stance. In response, Taliban authorities are said to have deployed special units to Badakhshan for a possible arrest operation.
At the same time, the commander is reportedly mobilizing forces under his control, raising concerns about a potential internal armed confrontation.
The situation has fueled growing speculation about widening fractures within Taliban ranks amid ongoing political and security pressures across northern Afghanistan.
